Living in Los Cabos: 15 Years Later, Why I Still Love Calling This Place Home
I moved to Los Cabos 15 years ago, looking for new professional opportunities… but I ended up finding much more than that: an exceptional lifestyle, a welcoming community, and a natural environment that still amazes me to this day. As someone who lives here, works here, and guides families and investors through their real estate decisions, I can say this with complete confidence:
Living in Los Cabos truly elevates your life.
In this blog, I want to share my personal experience and explain what it’s really like to live in this incredible destination — and why so many people are choosing Cabo as their new home or seasonal escape.

A breathtaking natural environment: beaches, desert… and whales
Los Cabos has a natural charm that captures you instantly.
What impressed me most from day one were its clean, safe, crystal-clear beaches and the dramatic desert landscape that blends uniquely with the ocean.
My favorite beaches —and the ones I always recommend— are:
- Santa María
- Chileno
- Palmilla
They’re perfect for:
- snorkeling
- kayaking
- stand-up paddle boarding
- swimming
- suntanning
- relaxing with friends or family
Whale watching: a magical experience
Every winter, from December to March, hundreds of humpback and gray whales arrive in Los Cabos to mate and give birth.
You can see them:
- from a boat,
- from coastal viewpoints,
- or even right from the beach.
Witnessing whales breaching in front of the horizon is a moment that never loses its magic.

The desert: peaceful, vast and unforgettable
Exploring the desert is one of my favorite activities. Whether hiking or mountain biking, I enjoy:
- panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez
- trails surrounded by giant cacti
- sunsets that paint the entire sky orange
- peaceful moments to disconnect and breathe
The desert here offers an extraordinary sense of freedom.
A world-class golf destination
If you love golf, Los Cabos is paradise.
We have some of the best courses in the world, all incredibly maintained and with dramatic ocean views.
My favorites:
- Puerto Los Cabos
- Club Campestre San José
- Palmilla
- Cabo Real
- Quivira
- Cabo del Sol
Golf becomes part of your lifestyle here — whether playing with friends, clients, or just enjoying a peaceful afternoon round.

A growing culinary scene
One of the things I enjoy the most about living in Cabo is the food.
The culinary scene is expanding rapidly, offering everything from casual Baja-style tacos to high-end restaurants overlooking the ocean.
My favorites include:
- fresh seafood
- sushi
- Mexican cuisine
- Baja tacos
- Italian food
You can dine extremely well every single day.
A perfect climate year-round
Los Cabos enjoys:
- sunshine almost every day
- low humidity
- mild, beautiful winters
- warm but enjoyable summers
The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular — the sky here is clearer and colors are sharper.

Safety, community and a welcoming atmosphere
In my 15 years living here, I’ve always felt safe.
Los Cabos is friendly, multicultural and full of positive energy. It’s easy to:
- make new friends
- enjoy outdoor activities
- stay socially active
- relax and feel at home
It’s a destination that adapts to any lifestyle.
Fishing, surfing and outdoor activities
Sport fishing
Some of the best in the world.
You can start fishing minutes after leaving the marina.
The famous Black & Blue Marlin Tournament draws participants from all over the globe.
Surfing
You can surf all year long:
- Summer → southern swells (Sea of Cortez side)
- Winter → northern swells (Pacific side)
Ideal for surfers or anyone who loves beach culture.
